Owen Online - Family Update - Week of October 23 2023

 Dear Owen Families,

We had another busy week at Owen.  

Grade 3's have been working on the CCAT-7 test and will continue this week.  If you are a parent of a grade 3 student it would be helpful if you have earphones to send with them.  If you don't have any, earphones will be provided.

As was mentioned at the School Council meeting we continued to do lots of equity work here at Owen. TDSB has put out the following on X (formerly Twitter):

Halloween is coming soon.  Please plan ahead to ensure that your child's costume is respectful towards all cultures and identities.  Costumes must be in alignment with the code of conduct, which is non-violent so avoid choosing costumes that are bloody, gory or involve any pretend weapons.

Please read the section below about the pumpkin fundraiser.  When you pick up your pumpkin make sure to take your Cash Online receipt with you.

Pizza Lunch

Pizza Lunch will continue on Thursdays until December 14th.

Lunch Timings:

Main Lunch: 11:55 AM - 12:30 PM

Kindergarten Lunch: 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM

(More details on the kindergarten lunch will be provided soon.)

Would you like to Volunteer?

Parents will supervise the Grade 5 students distributing the pizzas to ensure a smooth process. Each parent volunteer will oversee multiple classes.
