Owen Online - Oct. 30 - Nov. 3

Fall l'Affaire

Fall L'Affaire is fast approaching. Tickets go fast, so get yours early at  http://www.owenpublicschool.ca/fall/

Student Safety

Owen is a busy, active school with events each and every day. Lately we have been having issues with parents in the building during instructional time in the hallways and visiting the classrooms. We would like to remind parents to begin their school visit in the office and connect with our office staff before moving through the building.

Some key considerations are as follows:
  • Daycare entrance/exit is separate from the school - please use the appropriate door for pick up/drop off
  • After school programs are dismissed at 4:30pm to the front door or west doors, please pick up at these exit doors
  • All visitors must first visit the office
  • Should you wish to have a conversation with your child's teacher, please contact the teacher in advance to select a time outside of our instructional day

We truly appreciate the effort and involvement of our parent community and your support in this matter.

Rose Reisman/Kids Kitchen Update

OSAC has decided that due to the small number of families ordering from Rose Reisman that they will no longer be a provider for hot lunches starting in November. We will continue to use Kids Kitchen throughout the school year.

Police Checks

A reminder to parents that it is a requirement of the TDSB that all parent volunteers complete a police background check. It takes about 4-6 weeks and must be completed before parent volunteers can work in the school/class or attend class trips. It only needs to be done once with an annual online renewal. We do this for the safety of all the children in the school.  If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Caroline Rosenbloom.

Police Check forms can be found in the main office.

Pizza Lunch

Pizza Lunch is once again open on the school Cash Online system for one week starting Monday for anyone who missed the opportunity to buy pizza lunch for the year.

Old iPhone’s at Home???

Our school has Virtual Reality goggles that can be used to integrate curriculum in so many interesting and exciting ways. However, we need smartphones or ipods to make them work.

If you have an old, undamaged smartphone that you would like to donate to the school, please erase it and send it in with your child. We will connect it to our internet and download apps required to make the VR goggles work. Thanks for your help!!!
