Dear Owen Families,
As we approach the holidays, we are often reminded to count the ways in which we are fortunate. While there are many challenges around us, I feel hugely privileged to have been given the opportunity to be Principal at Owen Public School. I have immediately been struck that this school has been very well tended by Ms Naymark and Ms Richter-Glinos, and am grateful for their stewardship. I can also see that Owen has, at its core, a dedicated, rigourous and collaborative staff who are the heart of the school.
On Friday I enjoyed meeting all the students. They were so friendly, inquisitive and happy to show me their classrooms and school. It's daunting to take on over four hundred new children - but that's what we do - they are yours, but we care for them as if they are ours. I am pleased that this week will be relatively quiet with concerts and fundraisers all wrapped up so they can relax and enjoy the last days before the break. I look forward to meeting our parents, guardians, and community throughout the New Year.
We have lots to look forward to in 2024. Until then, I genuinely hope you will find time to spend enjoying your loved ones, and taking the break from the frenzy that the holidays are supposed to be.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Our Daily Bread Foodbank collection was a huge success. We filled 5 huge bins of non-perishable food to feed families in need.
