Owen Online - Family Update - Week of October 16th

Dear Owen Families,

As you know, it has been a hard week for many. In response, the Toronto District School Board is providing a variety of resources for families, students and staff who are dealing with traumatic events:

At Owen will continue focus on fostering kindness and inclusion within our school.

It was more important than ever that we gathered together in the library this past Friday afternoon for a wonderful interactive performance by Fana Soro.  Students and staff learned together about the music and traditions of the Senoufo people.  We clapped along and danced. Some student volunteers even stepped forward to learn to make Balafon rhythms with Djembe drums.

This week we are planning to have Picture Day, some who made it to the next level will attend a Cross-Country Meet and IEPs will be sent home. Grade 3 testing will occur in class, over the course of the next 2 weeks.

We wish you all the best in the week to come.
