Owen Family Update - School Year End

Hello Owen Families,

We would like thank all our families for coming out to pick up student belongings and drop off devices.  It went really smoothly and we only had a few that still need to be returned.  Thank you so much for your cooperation during this time.

Our staff was thrilled to say goodbye to their students and wish them well for the summer break!

If you move during the summer, please email our main line owenps@tdsb.on.ca so we can update our records and forward any documents needed to your child's new school.

Report Card Distribution

Report cards have been sent electronically. Please check your junk mail in case you do not see it. The format must be MM/DD/YYYY, including the forward slashes. Example: 05/03/2004 for the birthdate May 3, 2004. Please email jamie.parkes@tdsb.on.ca if you did not receive it. After July 2nd, reports can be picked up at the school beginning September 1st 2021.

Summer Art Classes

This year we were fortunate to have Ms Elizabeth and Ms Lupita teach our students art online. If you are interested in continuing with art classes with either instructors, please see the information below.

Enjoy art by drawing and coloring step by step while learning interesting facts about the subjects.

Outdoor Zumba^® Kids:

Have fun, be active and jam out your favorite music. Kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba^® choreography.

Watercolor painting:

8 weeks virtual classes on Wednesdays 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. from July 7th till August 25th

Grade 1-5

In this class students are taught water-based painting techniques and focus on a work of art they can treasure forever! Painting allows children to express their creativity and learn to think with an open mind. Splashing paint across a canvas is fun and children who paint can be proud to be unique and to express their artistic style. Expressing themselves through painting allows children to take part in an activity that is fun and fulfilling. It will help develop an imaginative brain, give them critical thinking skills, make them more creative and provide a daily refuge they can turn to for stress relief.

  Somali Heritage Month - Invitation to Participate in Volunteer Planning Committee

The Somali Heritage Month is recognized at the Toronto District School Board during the month of October.  An invitation is extended to all Trustees, staff and the TDSB community wishing to participate in the Somali Heritage Month Volunteer Planning Committee.  The mandate of the Somali Heritage Month Volunteer Planning Committee is to provide learning opportunities for students, staff and the TDSB community as well as to enrich the curriculum resources related to this heritage.

At this time, we are inviting you to mark your calendars and attend the first volunteer planning committee scheduled for Somali Heritage Month for the next school year.  Please see the details of the planning meeting below.
