Tamil Heritage Month (THM) is recognized at the TDSB during the month of January.  This year, the THM theme is Vision 2020:  Yengal Kathaigal - Our stories.  As Toronto has the largest Tamil population outside of the South Asian subcontinent, this committee aims to ensure that the objectives of TDSB's January's Tamil Heritage month are reflected in the curriculum and learning objectives for our students.  One of the events is the poster design contest.

Please see the attached for full details about the THM Poster Design Contest.

Student Voices

A very special thank you to Sheridan Nurseries and specifically Ms. Baker, Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing and Toronto Garden Centre Store Manager, Mr. Datoo for their generous donation of 300 tulip bulbs to Owen P.S. The Eco Club students were hard at work planting the bulbs in the gardens all around the school this month and we look forward to seeing the tulips in bloom come spring.

Thanks,
Eco club
