We are nearly finished our school year and we would like to thank students and parents for your commitment, perseverance and support throughout remote learning. It was definitely a time to be flexible and to go with the flow and we did! We have 7 days left of school and we can't believe this school year is almost over! Please read over the following for instructions for the end of the year.

Return of Devices
In preparation for the start of the 2021-22 school year, families that borrowed devices (eg. iPad, Chromebook, Internet Hub) from the TDSB or Owen are asked to return them.
Please return the device, case and all chargers/power cables that were borrowed with the device to Owen starting Wednesday,June 23 until Tuesday June 29 2021. Schools will receive devices even if remote learning continues.
All devices not returned by June 29th will be administratively locked by the IT department in TDSB, preventing student login. These devices will need to be returned when school resumes in September.

Retrieval of Belongings
Many students have brought most of their belonging home in the spring. Others still have some items in their classrooms. Staff have gathered many items that were in the desks or cubbies and have them ready for students to bring home. Many teachers will be available at school on certain days to say goodbye to their students. Teachers will also:
collect any borrowed Owen or TDSB technology devices used for remote learning and mark them on our list as returned
hand out personal belongings, Yearbooks or Owen spirit wear (if purchased)
We want to ensure the safety of everyone and will still be following health and safety precautions, limiting contact at school and tracking students coming to school. Students and families are still expected to wear masks and keep a distance from others.
Families can sign up for 15 min intervals. If you have more than one child and your teachers are listed here, it's best to schedule a visit for your children to say goodbye. Their teachers would really love to see them. If that is not possible, items can be retrieved, and tech can be dropped off on one day.
June 23rd (AM) - Grade 5 Graduates Only
The morning is reserved only for Grade 5 grads and their families. Unfortunately, we are not able to have a proper ceremony due to gathering restrictions, however we do have some special items for all the graduates:
grad certificate
grad bag & treat
yearbook, grad composite and Owen spirit wear (if you made a purchase)
and of course, any personal belongings from your classroom
Graduates will enter through the front door. If there is a line up, please make sure you are kept at a distance from other families. The hallway will be beautifully decorated, and they will be able to view the paintings they created during remote learning. Bring your cameras too as there will be photo spots for you to take with your family!
In the afternoon, you can gather with your family and even do a zoom call with friends to view the special Grad Video that was made for our graduates. The video link will be released that afternoon.
Other Grades
You can sign up for the time slots on the day your teacher is available. You will be going to your teacher's outside door to meet with your teacher.
If you are not able to make it on that day, you can sign up for any of the OPEN blocks or arrange with office staff to an alternate day, to pick up items or drop of technology.

Moving out of Owen? (Including Grade 5 Grads)
If your child will be moving schools, please fill out the form below to help us know where to transfer your child's information. Please fill this out by the end of March so we can estimate the enrolment for next year.
This includes Grade 5 graduates who are moving onto Middle School.
