Dear Parents/Guardians,
It's been a great week with our parent/teacher conferences. It's a great time to meet with your child's teacher and learn how your child is progressing in school. As mentioned at our parent council meeting, there are learning gaps since our online learning experience that we are working on to help students recover from. The grades aren't as significant as their learning skills, homework habits, ability to advocate for themselves and ask for help when needed, and the development of resilience. These skills take time and consistency to develop but practice at school and reinforcement at home will help close those learning gaps.
As we develop and work on our School Improvement Plan, we will be collecting data to find out information to develop ways to improve student wellness and sense of belonging. More information will come soon.
As we begin the festive season, we love learning about how different families celebrate their special days. If you would like to share your holiday or favourite family tradition, please let us know! We would love to see displays in our front hallway, created by our own families.
As we anxiously await for the decision of the CUPE/ministry negotiations, information is given by the minute. Please continue to watch the news, check the TDSB Website, follow @tdsb on Twitter and look for an email from the board, for the most up to date information. We will send out an email with further information once we know. ~ Your Friendly Neighbourhood Admin Team

Congratulations Jamie & Family!
We are proud to show the beautiful book created by Jamie and her family supporting student well-being and environmental stewardship. You'll meet several animals from Canada and Asia and learn to reconnect with our environment after many long days in isolation during covid.
We would like to thank Jamie's family for donating this wonderful book for each classroom library at Owen. Thank you for this gift!
