Student Voices
Congratulations to our Gr. 4/5 Girls Bordenball team for their amazing 2nd place finish last week! The mascot was a key factor in our success!

*We would like to offer Owen students, friends and families a discount on the tickets.  Only $5 per ticket if you apply the code 'owen'.  Abigail initiated this fundraising event for Sick Kids Foundation.  She will have her very first art exhibition at the Canadian contemporary school of art to raise fund for Sick Kids Hospital.  



Jackson and Lucas Mertens participated in the 175th Markham Fair Art competition representing Ecole Owen Public School over the weekend and they placed in some of the categories as follows:
1st place "decorate small pumpkin" (all grades) - Jackson Mertens
1st place "decorate harvest vegetable" (all grades) - Jackson Mertens
5th place "wire sculpture" (grades 5-8)
5th place bookmark (grade 3-4) - Lucas Mertens
Raising Confident Kids and Resilient Teens
Parents are welcome to attend a presentation at St. Andrew's school held in the School Cafeteria, on October 16th at 6:30pm.

Parents can register on the google form below so our council can have an idea of numbers. Unfortunately, we they are not able to offer babysitting.

French Programs Application Deadline

For families interested in the Toronto District School Board's French Immersion or Extended French programs, we offer an online process for applying to:

We ask that you take note of the application deadline dates set for this year below for each FSL program area:

  • Early French Immersion (SK entry) – November 4th to November 29th (4 weeks) – central application process
  • Middle Immersion (Gr. 4 entry) - November 4th to November 29th (4 weeks) – locally managed school application process
  • Junior Extended French (Gr. 4 entry) – January 6th to January 31st, 2020 (4 weeks) – central application process
  • Cosburn MS – Gr. 6 Intensive Extended French – January 6th to January 31st, 2020 (4 weeks) – locally managed school application process
  • Gr. 7 Extended French – January 6th to January 31st, 2020 (4 weeks) – locally managed school application process
Please note: families with an older sibling currently in a French program are still required to complete an online application for the new student.
