Owen Online Nov. 6-10

Fall l'Affaire

Last night's Fall l'Affaire was lots of fun and a great success! This couldn't have happened without all of the amazing volunteers, who tirelessly dedicated hours of their time and energy towards this event. Thank you! Thank you to all the parents who came out and to all the donations towards Fall l'Affaire. Thanks to our venue donors for their generosity. Thank you also to the teachers for allowing us to interrupt your classes to create beautiful pieces of artwork that were auctioned off.

Without you all this event couldn't have been such an amazing success!

Thank you,
Helen Georgiou & Fall l'Affaire Committee

Student Safety

Owen is a busy, active school with events each and every day. Lately we have been having issues with parents in the building during instructional time in the hallways and visiting the classrooms. We would like to remind parents to begin their school visit in the office and connect with our office staff before moving through the building.

Some key considerations are as follows:
  • Daycare entrance/exit is separate from the school - please use the appropriate door for pick up/drop off
  • After school programs are dismissed at 4:30pm to the front door or west doors, please pick up at these exit doors
  • All visitors must first visit the office
  • Should you wish to have a conversation with your child's teacher, please contact the teacher in advance to select a time outside of our instructional day

We truly appreciate the effort and involvement of our parent community and your support in this matter.

Hot Lunch - Kids Kitchen

Starting on November 1st, Kids Kitchen will be available to students every day, Monday through Friday. More info at http://www.owenpublicschool.ca/lunch/

Just 1 more day......The kids are working hard, the mom is working even harder as the day draws nearer. We hope you will all be  there and if possible with your family to support this endeavor. The teachers are invited for this event. Please tell the ladies inside the auditorium doors who will be selling tickets that you are staff of Owen Public School and they will know that the admission has been covered. Your family can purchase tickets at the door.

The recital hall is on the 2nd floor of the Briton House at 720 Mt. Pleasant Rd.

Police Background Checks

Parents and community members who wish to volunteer must, like all TDSB employees, complete a Police Reference Check (which will include a vulnerable sector screening) and be cleared before they can tutor/mentor in any TDSB location or participate in activities with our students. We can provide the Police Reference Check forms in the office.
